TABUK CITY, Kalinga – As the provincial government aims to deliver a satisfactorily public service through a transformative, accountable and participatory governance, the Office of the Provincial Governor under its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) led by PDRRM Officer Jolanta C. Baac, hosted a three day workshop for the provincial government employees, and government member agencies of DRRM Councils to capacitate them on the creation of the Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP).
Governor Edduba believes that when emergencies or disasters occur, the government is the main institution mandated to protect its jurisdiction.
This mandate also implies that the government must continue to exist and deliver its essential functions regardless of any disruption to normalcy that might occur.
Also, the workshop is in compliance with NDRRMC Memorandum Order Number 33, series of 2018 mandating local governments to create their own Public Service Continuity Plan (PSP) to ensure the government to continuously function during an emergency or disaster.
PSCP consists of the internal capacities, recovery requirements and strategies of an agency or institution. It aims to ensure the continuous delivery of quality public services during an emergency, disaster or any other disruption by performing the mission essential function of the organization.
The resource speakers of the said workshop are from the Department of Interior and Local Government, and Office of the Civil Defense.
