TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The recent “Know Your Candidate Forum,” live streamed via the Tabuk City Public Information Office Facebook page, has received widespread appreciation from both the public and candidates in Kalinga and Tabuk City.
Initiated by the city government and led by the City Public Information Office headed by City Information Officer Aurora Amilig, the forum aimed to offer insights into the personalities of local candidates.
The forum aired over multiple episodes, with four segments. First episode featured candidates vying for the position of city councilors and provincial board members last November 21 and 22.
For the positions of mayor, vice mayor, governor, vice governor, and district representative, the episodes were aired on December 4 and 5.
On December 13, a special program featuring candidates for governor and district representative was aired to provide a chance for candidates who were unable to attend the earlier segments to introduce themselves to the voting public.
Candidates were asked a mix of questions from media partners, including members of the Ikalinga Network of Information Officers and Workers (iKNOW) with selected questions from netizens also read.
Because it allowed candidates to share some aspects of their personal life with the public, Tabukenos eagerly awaited and supported the event.
The “Voter’s Education and Media Forum,” another event of a similar nature, is planned for April 2025 to showcase the platforms and positions of all the candidates in Kalinga and Tabuk City. By Ian Jefrey Addatu
