LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – To officially close the Strawberry Festival, La Trinidad holds an awarding ceremony to commemorate several participants and winners of various activities in the municipality during its month-long celebration of the festivity held at the Municipal Gym, La Trinidad, Benguet, on March 28.
Participants from 16 barangays of La Trinidad who made the Strawberry Festival successful were awarded tokens and certificates of appreciation and recognition to acknowledge their active engagement in the activities that took place from March 3 to 28. Various municipal offices, headed by Mayor Romeo Salda, were also recognized for their triumphant conduct of different events.
The events include competitions, namely acoustic band competition, mural contest, search for the heaviest and sweetest strawberries, Mr. and Ms. La Trinidad, drum and lyre performances, cultural performances, and battle of the bands, with which the winners and participants were recognized.
The much-awaited announcement of the winners of the float competition, one of the major highlights of the strawberry festival, was further revealed in the closing program. For the Valley of Colors category, Barangay Beckel was hailed as the champion, while Barangay Bineng emerged as the first runner-up and Barangays Pico and Bahong were the second runners-up. Meanwhile, Barangay Lubas claimed their back-to-back championship title for the Pro-environment category with Barangay Alno as the first runner-up and Barangay Shilan as the second runner-up.
