LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — The Strawberry Capital of the Philippines is once again highlighting its strawberries, promoting local produce, and supporting local farmers through the various festivities that will run from March 3 to 29.
The Strawberry Lane and Agro-Fair has already kicked off the celebration on March 3 at the municipal park, which aims to showcase the creativity of local businesses and individuals by selling their innovative strawberry-infused products like pastries, beverages, vinegar, and more.
Aside from that, the Commercial Trade Fair also opened and it features various products such as clothes, accessories, drinks, snacks, among others. The stalls can be found along the parking lot in front of the market.
“On behalf of the municipal officials, we would like to invite all the stakeholders, the community, the 16 barangays, and of course our visitors to join us on the celebration of the Strawberry Festival 2025,” said Mayor Romeo Salda during the opening of the strawberry lane.
Some of the major upcoming activities and competitions are the mural contest on March 7th, jobs fair on the 8th, and the search for the sweetest and heaviest strawberries on the 14th, which will all be conducted at the municipal park and gym.
The main program and civic parade will be on March 18 together with the “Owik tan Tayao” and multi-cultural celebrations at the municipal grounds.
Aside from those, the drum and lyre, dance performances, and float parade and battle of the bands will be on March 22. The strawberry cake fest on the 23rd, Mr. and Ms. La Trinidad coronation night on the 27th, the closing program on the 28th, and “Dongba ni Kavajo” on the 29th. By Blessah Joy Manuel
