BANGUED, Abra – A 38-year old labourer was injured after he was shot by a still unidentified gun-wielding suspect wile urinating beside his shanty at Turod, Angad, here, Thursday night.
Abra police officials identified the shooting victim as John Rio Alconis Baronia, 36, married, laborer, resident of Turdo, Angad, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim, together with five companions, were having a drinking spree inside his shanty when he decided to go out and urinate on the side.
At this juncture, a still unidentified gun-wielding individual suddenly appeared from nowhere and shot the victim once before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction while his companions scampered for safety as a result of the incident.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment where he is now undergoing medical treatment for a lone guunshot wound on his back while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by the police personnel.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene a lone spent shell of a still unidentified type of firearm used in the perpetration of the crime.
