BAGUIO CITY – A 51-year old labourer was injured after he was stabbed by a fellow labourer while he was being brought by his companion to their residence at Sto. Tomas Road Extension, Bakakeng Central, here, Thursday evening.
Police authorities identified the victim as Arturo Castro Ramos, 51, construction worker and a resident at Marcos Highway, Bakakeng Central, Baguio City while the suspect was named as Juan Reyes Manalo, 47, married, construction worker and a resident of Old Sto. Tomas Extension, Bakakeng Central, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and his friends had a drinking session after work when the suspect suddenly arrived and joined them.
After a few moments, an altercation between the victim and the suspected suddenly erupted that caused their friends to pacify them. The suspect was led to his home while the victim was also accompanied by some of his friends to his residence nearby.
However, the suspect came running and stabbed the victim with an ice pick several times that caused him to be rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medication.
The suspect was subsequently arrested by responding police operatives and awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
