LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 29-year old laborer was injured after he was stabbed on the different parts of his body by a fellow labourer during an altercation inside their barracks at Camp Dangwa, Alapang, here, Friday.
Chief Inspector Benson Macliing, chief of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, identified the victim as James Oplas Jr., 29, married, construction worker while he named the suspect as Johnny Moyaen Alingcotan, 32, single, construction worker, native of Santiago City, Isabela and both residents of Gumatdang, Atok, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim, the suspect and three other companions had a drinking session inside their barracks when the duo was engaged in an intensed altercation that resulted into a fistfight between them.
Their companions were able to pacify the duo but the victim still challenged the suspect that forced the latter to allegedly stab him on the different parts of his body before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victim is now undergoing observation at the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) due to multiple stab wounds on the different parts of his body while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives.
