TADIAN, Mountain Province – A labourer was injured after he was allegedly mauled by his brother-in-law during a heated altercation at sitio Kugot, barangay Banaao, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Cornelio Cumila, provincial director of the Mountain Province Police Office, identified the victim as Samson Alida Jimenez, single, labourer while he named the suspect as Calderon Natag-ey Lumewan, 29, married, farmer, brother-in-law of the victim, native of Tonglayan, Natonin, both residents of Banaao, Tadian, Mountain Province.
Initial police investigation that the victim, who was under the influence of liquor, went to the house of his younger sister when a heated altercation ensued between them prompting her to close the door on him.
The victim continued knocking at the door which allegedly irked the suspect, who then used the window as his exit, and allegedly mauled him.
The victim was rushed to the Luis Hora Regional Memorial Hospital in nearby Abatan, Bauko, Mountain Province while the suspect voluntarily surrendered to responding police operatives.
