BANAUE, Ifugao March 21 – A 30-year old labourer died after he was stabbed to death by three still unidentified knife-wielding suspects during a heated altercation while attending a wake at Pugo, Amganad, here, Tuesday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Roland Talango Tayaban, 30, male, single, laborer, and a resident of Pugo, Amganad, Banaue, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and his companions were having a drinking spree while attending the wake of a neighbour when they were joined by the three suspects who arrived later.
After a few moments, a heated altercation suddenly erupted between the victim’s group and the suspects that resulted to a commotion.
The suspects then proceeded towards their parked motorcycle but they were followed by the victim forcing them to stab him several times on the different parts of his body.
He was rushed to the Good News clinic and hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to fatal stab wounds on the different parts of his body while the suspects fled towards Lagawe town.
