BONTOC, Mountain Province – Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. highlighted the 2.39% over collection of the Provincial Treasury Office (PTO) in his 2025 State of the Province Address.
The Governor said that the 2.39% over collection, equivalent to over 30.75 million pesos, would go a long way in addressing the poverty incidence in the province. According to him, the 19.01% or more than PhP30.66 million over-collection from local revenue sources greatly impacted the overall collection in 2024.
These achievements in collection efficiency and revenue growth were attributed by Governor Lacwasan, not only to the PTO itself but also to the Municipal Treasury Offices of the 10 municipal governments of Mountain Province.
“These feats are primarily due to the different revenue-generating strategies employed by the PTO, including regular monitoring and coordination with the different municipal treasury offices, prompt follow-ups on delinquent accounts, conduct of tax information campaigns, and improved collection schedules,” he said.
Meanwhile, Governor Lacwasan also acknowledged the other offices of the provincial government that contributed to the coffers of the provincial government through their efficient collection of fees.
According to him, the Bontoc General Hospital was able to collect and remit over 100.7 million pesos from the various hospital services it offered.
Other collections/remittances mentioned by Lacwasan during his address include the Provincial Veterinary Office’s collection of over PhP1,038,000 and the Provincial Agriculture Office’s collection of over 1.37 million pesos. By Hail, MP
