The Municipal Hall of Lagawe locally known as Lagawe People’s Hall enters its Phase 4 of reconstruction, which started on April 4. The completion of its fourth installment of construction is expected to complete 60-65% of the building.
The face lift includes the finishing of the reconstructed walls and structural walls of the building.
The reconstruction of the municipal hall is one of the major infrastructure development projects of Municipal Mayor, Martin Habawel Jr. in 2021.
Once completed, the Lagawe People’s Hall addresses the need of the employees and the residents of Lagawe for a larger and spacious municipal building.
Further, as managed by WANGJO construction with a budget allotted PhP 30 million from the LGU’s general fund, the project’s completion of Phase 4 is expected to be on January 21, 2026.
Reconstruction Phases
The Provincial Local Government Unit of Ifugao donated the land in favor of MLGU Lagawe on which the municipal building north of the plaza was built. The property is now legally owned by the MLGU Lagawe.
The municipal government demolished the old municipal hall and commenced the building of a 6-storey Lagawe People’s Hall.
According to Angel D. Pundao, OIC-Municipal Engineering Office, the Phase 1 had a total budget of PhP 20 million, which involves the development of the architectural and structural plans of the 6-storey building, including the preparation of the construction site and laying the foundation of the building and its skeletal design.
Further, Phase 2 and 3 is summed up with PhP 8 million and PhP 7 million, respectively. These phases focused on the construction of the building’s structural framework, including the foundation, columns, beams, and floors.
Temporary Relocation of Offices
Currently, the offices of the Lagawe People’s Hall are temporarily located in different strategic locations in Lagawe.
Offices of the Engineering are situated in Bagsakan Building in Poblacion East together with the offices of Treasury, Budget, Accounting, Civil Registry, and the Assessor’s.
As for the other offices, the Vice Mayor’s Office and Sangguniang Bayan (SB), Disaster Risk Reduction Management, Planning and Development, Agriculture, and Social Welfare and Development are situated in Lumingay, Poblacion North.
