The Lagawe Municipal Police Station (LMPS) conducted an anti-criminality checkpoint on June 4, 2025 in Poblacion South, Lagawe, Ifugao aimed to prevent criminal activities and ensure community safety.
This operation is part of continuing efforts to ensure public safety, deter criminal activity, and uphold traffic regulations within the municipality.
“An example (of the crimes that may happen during the anti-criminality checkpoint), nu nabartek nga agmanmaneho mabalin nga either maaksidente or makaaksidente ti daduma nga tao (An example [of the crimes that may happen during the anti-criminality checkpoint], drunk driving can either cause an accident to oneself or to other people), Dulnuan explained.
They conduct checkpoints to ensure the safety of the community and prevent an accident.
Dulnuan emphasized that each checkpoint must have a stationed official police officer, a marked vehicle, and signages indicating that a certain area is a checkpoint.
The LMPS encourages the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies in keeping the community safe.
They also remind all drivers to always bring their driver’s license and vehicle documents when going out. Additionally, all motorcycle riders are urged to make it a habit of using protective helmets for their safety.// Glenda G. Alicwas, BSU-DevCom Intern
