The Organization of Women Employees of Lepanto Mines (OWELM) joined the DIWATA’s Bougainvillea Brigade, as part of the 66th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) week in Baguio City.
The DIWATA–Women in Resource Development Inc. is an all-female non-government organization advocating responsible development and use of mineral resources in the Philippines’ such as mining, oil and gas and quarrying.
Around 500 bougainvillea plants were planted in Burnham Park, Session Road and in other parts of Baguio City on November 19, in time for the ANMSEC week kickoff. The activity aims to make positive, tangible and permanent contributions to the continued beautification of Baguio City, which has been the host to the ANMSEC for the past decades.
The said activity is in coordination with the Office of Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
