La Trinidad, Benguet – Gardenville, Chalpin Builders, Under 34 Puguis and 35 Up Poblacion and Cruz secured twice to beat advantage going into semis as the latest games of Liga La Trinidad, Season 4 were completed at the La Trinidad Municipal Gym, here.
Gardenville outlasted Delson, 82-79, last August 28 to pocket the hotly contested 1-2 ranks of Bracket H. By virtue of the win, Gardenville finished the eliminations with a record of 8-1, and tie CCDC at the helm. The Admiral Employees, however, would take the top spot by winning their head-to-head match up.
Delson will have to settle for third and would have pull out a double victory over their tormentors to advance to the finals. CCDC will face the Marketeers in the other match-up.
The Chalpin Builders tamed the Isaiah 7:14 Bulldogs, 77-65, also last August 28 to record their seventh win in eight games. That will lock them to at least second place no matter what happens to the final games in the bracket. The Builders will try to put a stop to Isaac’s unbeaten run in their final game. Isaac is unbeaten in eight games, including an 85-73 win over Chalpin last July 1.
In the Inter-barangay brackets, the Under 34 Puguis and 35 Up Cruz Teams watched favorable events unfold to their favor and the 35 Up Poblacion came up with a big win to also bag twice to beat incentives going into the semis.
Idle Puguis watched their Poblacion and Cruz counterparts won by forfeiture last August 27 to allow them a tie for second at 7-2. This actually worked in their favor because the tie would have to be broken by the quotient system where Puguis has the advantage over both teams. They will now face Poblacion in the semis while Cruz fell to top seed Pico, 96-99, last August 29 to be relegated to the battle for third.
In the 35Up Bracket, Poblacion upended Puguis, 107-90, while Balili downed Camp Dangwa, 59-53, to get their fifth wins against two losses and create a four-way tie for the best record with Puguis and Cruz. With the win, Poblacion took the top seed with a superior tie-break while Cruz got the nod for second. Puguis had to settle for third dropping Balili to fourth.
