TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Local dishes were highlighted at the Matagoan Indigenous Food Fair held at the Tabuk City Hall Compound as part of the 2025 Matagoan Festival celebrations. The exhibit featured a variety of authentic indigenous dishes, including binungor, tambu-tambung, inandila, traditional rice cakes, and many other native delicacies.
One of the highlights of the event was the arrival of Usec. Alexander Raquepo of the Cooperative Development Authority, who, along with his party, was warmly welcomed by the City Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (CCEDO). The yDupag dancers added cultural flair to the welcome, performing a tadok while the guests were served freshly brewed local coffee and inandila, the city’s renowned delicacy.
Following the exhibit, the delegation proceeded to the Patawid Fair, which stretched along the city’s streetscape, showcasing local products, crafts, and micro-enterprise innovations.
The Matagoan Indigenous Food Fair is set to run through June 19, 2025, offering visitors several days to explore and savor the rich culinary traditions of Tabuk City. By Eisenhower Bucalen
