BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Provincial Accounting Office spearheaded the joint Association of Local Government Accountants of Mountain Province (ALGAMP) and the Commission on Audit (COA)-Mountain Province’s 2024 Forum with the theme, “Where Diverse Views Meet for Unified Understanding,” held in the capital town on September 2, 2024.
The forum aims to further improve the systems and procedures in the different accounting offices in the province that would facilitate, simplify and enhance the delivery of quality service to clients and constituents, including reports rendered to oversight bodies.
As a background of the activity, Provincial Accountant and ALGAMP President Theodore B. Marrero disclosed the sentiments of the local government accountants from the province wherein they have experienced meeting differing comments or opinions on certain issues referred to their respective COA auditors. He said that activity is a venue to refer to the subject matters for discussions, clarifications, and guidance.
With this, COA state auditors in Mountain Province were invited to the conference to help resolve whatever differing opinions among the local government accountants.
In line with this, Marrero extended the ALGAMP’s appreciation on the continuing guidance of the COA regarding fiscal administration in the local government relative to compliance of laws, rules and regulations, preparation of financial statements and performance enhancement among others.
“Your guidance and direction have been instrumental in the efficient and effective implementation of our fiscal administrative policies, which eventually leads to the successful implementation of plans and objectives of our respective local government unit,” Marrero said.
Moreover, Executive Assistant Winston V. Calde expressed the full support of Gov. Bonfacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. to the activity and led in handing the certificate of appreciation to the state auditors. By Hail, MP
