TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), a duly constituted barangay-based organization for the youth is celebrating its 50th founding anniversary today with youth members here joining the celebration.
The theme for the occasion is “Golden milestone: Fostering generational youth-led initiatives for inclusivity and social change”.
The celebration was held at the conference room of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in Bulanao, which according to Jenina Ruth Bangelan, focal person on Youth Welfare Program of PSWDO, creates self-enhancement activity that will develop the knowledge and skills of the PYAP members, and provide for learning that will mold the youth to become leaders and advocates for social change.
At least 10 PYAP members from PYA Tabuk City attended the event, accompanied by the focal person on Youth Welfare Program of City Social Welfare and Development Office, Gideon Wansi.
Contested events were lined up for this event such as quiz bee, logo making, slogan making, and poster making.
For quiz bee competition, the top three winners are PYA Tabuk City Inc., PYA Rizal and Inc., and PYA Lubuagan, Kalinga, Inc.
For Kalinga PYAP logo making, PYA Rizal, Kalinga Inc., PYA Tabuk City Inc., and PYA Pinukpuk, Kalinga Inc. are the top three winners.
PYA Pasil, Kalinga Inc., PYA Pinukpuk, Kalinga Inc., and PYA Tabuk City Inc. ranked first, second and third respectively for the slogan making.
For the poster making, PYA Rizal, Kalinga Inc. aced the event winning the top spot, followed by PYA Pinukpuk, Kalinga Inc., and PYA Tabuk City Inc. on second and third spots. By Darwin S. Serion
