TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Local School Board (LSB) has approved the proposed Special Education Fund (SEF) and LGU Support Fund for 2023.
The proposed SEF has a budget of P4,010,000.00 which is distributed to personal services (salaries of local school board teachers from January to June and August to December of this year), and capital outlay (construction of makeshift classrooms of the elementary schools (ES) of Magasuso, Nasgueban and Luyukan; construction of perimeter fence of Luyukan ES; purchase of water pump and water tank of New Balbalan ES; and purchase of school lot and processing of papers of Magasuso ES).
On the other hand, LGU support fund amounts to P2,500,000.00 which goes to the following activities: brigada eskwela, support to newly-established integrated schools,psycho-educational assessment of learners with disabilities, regional press conference, regional festival of talents, provision of learning tools for Math and Science, professional development of AP teachers on content and pedagogy, production of reading instructional materials, and orientation on kindergarten content and pedagogy to instructional leaders in relation to blocks of time.
During the meeting, unfinished projects of the city government were identified. These projects will be presented to the City Planning and Development Office for possible funding.
The meeting was attended by Schools Division Superintendent Irene Angway, City Treasurer Constante Doctor, City Human Resource and Management Officer Jepthe Feken, Assistant City Budget Officer Yeshlyn Sangwin, Assistant City Accountant Jefrey Pitot, Executive Assistant Henry Gupaal, and some representatives from the Tabuk City Schools Division.
