La Trinidad, Benguet- Mayor Romeo Salda emphasized in speech as guest speaker the value of parents participation in all school activities during the Mass Induction Ceremony at Eastern La Trinidad National High School (ELTNHS) at Beckel barangay on July 6.
He said that parents, as a partner of the school for development should be united as one because whatever improvements/achievements the school will have, it is the students who will benefit from it.
Salda added that parents should refrain from complaining about contributions and miscellaneous fees in school but instead practice the “give and take” relationship.
The needs of children are love and care. You (parents) must have a constant communication with their children,” Salda expounded as he reminded the parents that attending a PTA meeting doesn’t end with signing in the attendance sheet but rather talking to the teachers of their children since teachers have more observations to tell to help the students.
The first-term mayor of this capital town also reminded the students to finish their studies because the best gift that they (students) could give to their parents is the certificate of graduation and not the marriage certificate.
On the other hand, Gregorio T. Antonio, the Barangay Captain of Barangay Beckel and who served as the inducting officer, motivated the newly elected officers to be the partner of the school in development and that they should develop the spirit of leadership with participatory on governance, transparency and accountability.
