LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The municipal government recently issued new guidelines to be observed by the assigned person for every household when going out of their residences effective Monday, April 6, 2020 as part of the adjustments being done by concerned government agencies and the municipal government to significantly reduce the number of people present in public places for the duration of the ongoing Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
Mayor Romeo K. Salda said the new window period for the assigned person of every household will be from 8 am to 5 pm Mondays to Saturdays effective on the third week of the enhanced community quarantine.
Under Salda’s directive, the assigned person per family will be issued the appropriate pass to refill food stocks and attend to medical, banking and agricultural needs only.
The assigned person per household in barangays Pico and Bineng will be allowed to be out of their residences during the window period on Mondays, those from Balili and Alno will be allowed to be out on Tuesdays, those from Poblacion, Beckel and Cruz will be allowed to go out of their homes on Wednesdays, those issued passes from Tawang, Alapang and Shilan are allowed to be transacting allowed businesses on Thursdays; those from Puguis, Bahong and Wangal should avail of the window period on Fridays and those from Betag, Ambiong and Lubas are allowed to do business out of their houses on Saturdays.
He revealed there will be no window period on Sundays and that everyone must stay in their homes as Sundays will be a total lockdown in the municipality.
Further, the assigned person per household are advised to bring with them their home quarantine passes to avoid being apprehended during the window period.
According to him, only one person per family will be allowed to go out of their residences and that persons using private cars will be allowed to go out of their residences during the window period provided for their barangays.
More importantly, Salda advised people going out of their houses to always wear face mask and for them to practice precautionary measures, particularly social distancing, to prevent them from being infected by the carriers of the deadly virus.
The municipal mayor tasked the personnel of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, barangay tanods, deputized military reservists and volunteers to arrest people loitering in the municipality outside the window period.
On the other hand, establishments providing basic necessities may open from 8 am to 5 pm while eateries and restaurants will be allowed to operate and provide take out services to their clients.
Salda stated that sari-sari stores in the different barangays may be allowed to open from 9 am to 1 pm only and that the same should be closed on Sundays to pave the way for the strict implementation of the 24-hour curfew.
However, he stipulated that the new window period will still be subject to changes in the coming days depending on the viability of the same and upon the recommendation of concerned experts assessing the situation in the municipality.
