LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The La Trinidad Municipal Police Station (LTMPS) was chosen by the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera as the Best Performing Municipal Police Station in the region for this year following its outstanding accomplishments in its anti-criminality, peacekeeping and anti-drug campaign since the start of the year.
LTMPS headed by Police Maj. Clef Vencio was the consistent Best Performing Municipal Police Station from January to May this year that allowed the same to qualify for the Search for the Best Performing MPs in the regional level.
Because of its exemplary fete, LTMPS will be the region’s entry to the Best Performing MPS in the national level which will be awarded during the celebration of the Police Service anniversary in August.
For the regional level, LTMPS will be receiving its award during the regional celebration of the Police Service anniversary on July 22, 2020.
The criteria for judging of the Best Performing MPS in the provincial, regional and national levels include the significant reduction in the crimes committed in their areas of jurisdiction and exemplary accomplishments in the different operational plans that had been crafted to ensure the prevalence of law and order in their areas of jurisdiction during a given period.
In 2015, LTMPS was adjudged as the Best Performing MPS in the country following its overall exemplary performance in the sustained efforts against the proliferation of crimes and the implementation of law and programs geared towards keeping the communities safe.
For his part, Vencio expressed his gratitude to the municipal government headed by Mayor Romeoo K. Salda and Vice Mayor Roderick Awingan, barangay officials, members of the barangay peacekeeping action teams, women’s brigade, all sectors in the municipality, volunteers and the residents for their utmost cooperation in the implementation of anti-crime strategies that is geared towards keeping the community safe.
The police official claimed that whatever is the accomplishment of the LTMPS will be attributed to the participation and cooperation of the residents in the implementation of strategies that had been crafted to ensure the sustenance of law and order which is one of the factors of robust development in certain localities, especially in the capital town which is the center of trade and commerce in Benguet.
According to him, the LTMPS is proud to serve the people of the municipality whose primary intention is to live in a peaceful and orderly community for them to achieve their desired progress in life because law and order is the major foundation of development.
Vencio stated that it will be a difficult task to replicate the previous achievement of his predecessors but he expressed optimism that with the guidance of the Almighty Father, LTMPS will continue to move on to greater heights.
He said that pertinent documents were already submitted by the LTMPs to the screening committee that was tasked by the national headquarters to evaluate the performance of the qualified municipal police stations to the coveted recognition.
Mayor Romeo K. Salda commended the officers and men of the LTMPS for being adjuged as the Best Performing Municipal Police Station in the region.
