LUNA, Apayao – The municipal government of Luna has donated a piece of land in San Gregorio to the National Irrigation Administration-Apayao Irrigation Management Office (NIA-AIMO).
This donation will allow the construction of a new NIA AIMO office as part of the goals of the provincial government to centralize and streamline government services for the yApayaos.
The official handover took place on July 1, 2024, at the Luna Mayor’s Office in Poblacion.
The deed of donation was signed by Luna Municipal Mayor Josephine M. Bangsil and NIA Apayao Acting Division Manager Engr. Samuel C. Bahiwag.
The new office will play an important role in supporting projects like the Lower Apayao River Irrigation Project, the Ziwanan irrigation project, and various solar pump initiatives. It will also serve as a base for the Marimay Small Reservoir Irrigation Project once it begins operations. By PIO Apayao
