LUNA, Apayao – The officialdom of the municipality led by Mayor Josephine Bangsil received two national and six regional Functionality Awards from the Department of the Interior and Local Government–Cordillera (DILG-CAR).
These awards were conferred by the DILG-CAR to Luna in Baguio City this October 28, 2024 as the department held its annual regional awards ceremony, coinciding with the 33rd Local Government Month celebration.
The event, held at the Crown Legacy Hotel on Legarda Road, gathered local government officials, awardees, and guests from across the region.
The awards given during the event include Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Functionality Audit CY 2022 (National), Peace and Order Council (POC) Functionality Audit CY 2022 (National), Anti- Drug Abuse Council Functionality Audit CY 2023 (Regional), POC Functionality Audit CY 2023 (Regional), Local Committee on Anti- Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children Functionality Audit CY 2023 (Regional), Local Council for Protection of Children Functionality Audit CY 2023 (Regional), Local Project Monitoring Committee Functionality Audit CY 2023 (Regional), and SubayBayani Regional Awardee FY 2024.
These awards highlighted the commitment of the municipal government in promoting good governance, implementing innovative programs and addressing social issues. Through their exemplary work, a tangible difference in the lives of their constituents has been made.
The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the crucial role played by local governments in building a stronger, more resilient, and prosperous municipality.
