BANGUED, Abra – A 37-year old man was arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents after having found in his direct possession an unlicensed firearm with live ammunitions during a police checkpoint at barangay Patucannay, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the arrested individual as Artemio Ortega Ortega, 37 and a resident of barangay Talampac, Lacub, Abra.
Confiscated from his possession by the operating law enforcers was a calibre .45 pistol with a magazine loaded with 7 live ammunitions.
The arrested individual and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bangued Municipal Police Station for documentation awaiting the filing of the charges for violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms Law against him before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
