LA TRINIDAD, Benguet August 22 – A 26-year old man was arrested by police operatives after having found in his possession prohibited drugs, unlicensed firearm and several rounds of live ammunition at JC 090 Pico here recently.
Inspector Joyce Ann Dayag, public information officer of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested suspect as Elmer Pakias Adolfo, 26, single and a resident of Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Confiscated from his possession were a caliber .45 pistol with one magazine loaded with seven rounds of live ammunition, 4.4 grams of while crystalline substance believed to be shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and detained at the La Trinidad Municipal Jail awaiting the filing of charges of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law and RA 10591 or the Law on firearms and Ammunitions.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, said the recent accomplishments of the law enforcers against the illegal drug trade as a clear dedication of the PNP to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs pursuant to the mandate of its PATROL Plan 2030.
