AGUINALDO, Ifugao – A 30-year old man died after he was bumped by a truck that slowly descended from the upper portion of the road at Ubao, here, Tuesday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Anej-char Bakichan, 30, married and a resident of Ubao, Aguinaldo, Ifugao.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was allegedly under the influence of liquor and was sleeping on the shoulder of the road when he was bumped by the truck that was left unattended by the driver that slowly descended from the upper portion of the road.
The truck driven by Allan Bocan Chawagan, 42, married, and resident of Monggayang, Aguinaldo, Ifugao stopped on the upper portion of the road purposely to unload a cow. The driver allegedly alighted from the vehicle without switching off the engine to look for a hard object that will serve as a shock for its wheel.
While the driver was looking for the hard object, the vehicle started moving downward until it bumped the victim on the shoulder of the road that inflicted multiple head and body injuries on him.
The driver and the ill-fated truck was brought to the Aguinaldo Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to the filing of the charges against him while the victim’s cadaver was taken by his relatives to give him the necessary wake and burial.
