BAGUIO CITY – A 22-year old man died after his Baguio-bound scooter collided head on with a Bakakeng-bound Sports Ulity Vehicle (SUV) along Marcos highway, particularly in front of a hotel, Sunday night.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, officer-in-charge of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the fatality as Jobert Falisong Estoesta, 22, a resident at No. 24, Lourdes Extn., Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was on board his scooter on the way to the city proper when upon reaching the area of the hotel, it suddenly collided head on with a SUV driven by Calixto Addog Bagiw, Jr., of legal age, married, self employed and a resident of Baguio city.
As a result of the impact of the collision, the victim was thrown off his scooter and banged his head and body on the concrete pavement thereby inflicting severe injuries on his head and body.
He was rushed by concerned citizens to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries.
Tue suspect, who was arrested after the incident, was subjected to alcoholic breath test and eventually turned out to positive and stands to face appropriate charges to be filed against him before the city prosecutor’s office.
