BAGUIO CITY – A man died after he was pinned down by an electric post of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) that was pulled down by a wayward garbage truck of the local government at Purok 26, San Carlos Heights, Irisan, here, Friday.
Senior Superintendent Ramil L. Saculles, City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the fatality as Paul Balonglong and a resident of San Carlos Heights, Irisan, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed a wayward garbage truck of the local government pulled the wires that were over an electric post until the post collapsed and hit the victim who was in the area and ruined a parked taxi cab.
The victim was immediately rushed by concerned residents to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he later expired while undergoing close medical supervision because of multiple head and body injuries as a result of the said incident.
