ITOGON, Benguet January 04 – A 39-year old man died after he allegedly drowned in the swimming pool of the Rainbow Resort located in Purok 3, Poblacion, here, Tuesday afternoon.
Police authorities identified the drowning victim as Maximo Fagsao Keya, 39, married, a resident of Fatima, Ucab, Itogon, Benguet and a native of Saclit, Sadanga, Mountain Province.
Initial police investigation showed that while the victim was allegedly under the influence of liquor, he reportedly went out from their rented cottage and immediately proceeded towards the pool.
A customer reported to the life guard that he felt someone unconscious under the pool while he was swimming and reported the same to the life guard for immediate action.
The unconscious victim was lifted out of the pool by the resort workers and was immediately rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) by members of the municipal health office but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
