LAGANGILANG, Abra – A 30-year old man died after he was shot to death by a gun-wielding individual along the road at Sinabaan, Tagodtod, here, Tuesday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Santiago Peralta Vasquez, 30, single, and a resident of Sitio Sinabaan, barangay Tagodtod, Lagangilang, Abra while the suspect was named as a certain as Mark Red Kein Peralta Artienda alias Mac-Mac.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and his companions were having a drinking session along the road when the suspect and two other companions passed by and shouted at them but they ignored the said actuations of the passers-by.
After a few minutes, the suspect came back and pointed a gun to the victim and then fired at him several times hitting him on his head and different parts of his body while his companions immediately scampered for safety.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians while the suspect fled towards an undisclosed direction.
The motive of the case is still being ascertained while responding police operatives recovered from the crime scene three spent shells of a still undetermined type of firearm used by the suspect in the perpetration of the crime.
