TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A 27-year old man was hurt after he was repeatedly shot by two still unidentified motorcycle riding in tandem assailants at barangay Magasyasy here over the weekend.
Senior Superintendent Victor Wanchakan, provincial director of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Dave Segundo Abbacan, 27, single and a resident of Puork 4, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was on board his motorcycle and was en route to Bulanao when upon reaching barangay Magsaysay, he was shot thrice by two still unidentified motorcycle riding in tandem individuals for still unknown reasons.
The victim was immediately rushed to a local hospital by concerned barangay officials led by Magsaysay Punong Barangay Benito Cayso before he was transferred to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital where he was found to have sustained two gunshot wounds on his right leg.
The suspects were able to immediately flee from the crime scene and they are now the subject of a manhunt operation for them to answer frustrated murder charges that will be filed against them before the Kalinga provincial prosecutor’s office.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team who processed the crime scene recovered a spent shell of a caliber .45 pistol which was believed to have been used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
