TABUK CITY, Kalinga May 14 – A 40-year old man was injured aft6er he was allegedly stabbed by a drunk knife-wielding man when he tried to help him during a drinking session at Casigayan, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the victim as John Bagni Bagto, 40, married, self-employed and resident of Casigayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga while the suspect was named as Ago Diego y Gelacio, 66 years old, married and resident of Casigayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation that the victim and his companions were having a drinking session after attending a meeting in the residence of a barangay official when the suspect arrived and joined them. When the suspect was already drunk, he tried to board his bicycle but he fell on the ground that promoted the victim to assist him to stand up from where he fell.
However, the suspect, without any reason, suddenly stabbed the victim on the left side of his body.
The victim was rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was turned over by concerned citizens to the responding police operatives for him to be appropriately charged in the proper court.
