BAGUIO CITY – A 26-year old man was hurt after he was manhandled by four individuals while he and his companions were proceeding towards a bar along Lower Magsaysay Avenue here recently.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, officer-in-charge of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the victim as Joey Pullag Tambiac, 26, single, and a resident of Aurora Hill, Baguio City while he named the suspects as Ben Lartec Basan, 24, single, and a resident of Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet; Yano Kiblasan Ngamilot, 21, single, and a resident of Lucnab, Baguio City; and Joey Kiblasan Ngamilot, 30, married, miner, and resident of Kesbeng Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet and John Palalag Calingan, 27, single, and a native of Guinzadan, Bauko, Mountain Province, and resident of Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and his companions decided to continue their drinking session in another bar along Lower Magsaysay Avenue and while on their way, they met the four suspects who suddenly mauled him with no apparent reasons.
When SPO4 Philip Dawang, PO3 Israel Pangwi and PO1 Jefferson Siano, all assigned at Police Station 2, BCPO tried to arrest the suspects, they allegedly resisted arrest prompting the authorities to file additional charges of resisting arrest.
The victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment while the suspects are now detained at the BCPO headquarters awaiting the filing of additional charges against them.
