PASIL, Kalinga– A 29-year-old man was arrested afterhe attempted to transport more than P5 million worth of marijuana at barangay Cagaluan, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the arrested marijuana courier as Albert Boraway Dugwawi, 29 years old, and a resident of barangay Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that personnel according to the same report, personnel of the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force (PMFC) received information that an individual will be transporting marijuana products from Tinglayan going to Tabuk City.
Acting on the said information, joint operatives of the 2nd Kalinga PMFC, Tabuk City Police Station (CPS), Lubuagan MPS, and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) conducted an interdiction operation in Sitio Dinacan, barangay Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga, however while conducting checkpoint, the vehicle sped off toward the direction of Pasil, Kalinga.
The operating units chased the vehicle then they found it abandoned along Pasil-Balbalan Road.
Upon inspection, they discovered 10 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and stalks with fruiting tops with an estimated weight of 10,000 grams with Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P 1,200,000.00; 3 pieces tubular forms of suspected dried marijuana leaves and stalks with an estimated weight of 3,000 grams with an SDP of P 360,000.00; and 18 pieces medium rectangular shaped dried marijuana leaves and stalks with an estimated weight of 35,000 grams with an SDP of P 4,200,000.00.
Immediately, the operatives conducted a manhunt operation that resulted in the arrest of suspect Dugwawi in Barangay Cagaluan, Pasil, Kalinga.
The arrested suspects and the seized pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of Pasil MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
Charges of violation of the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law of 2002 is being readied for filing against the arrested suspect.
