RIZAL, Kalinga – A 54-year old man died after he was repeatedly stabbed to death by his drinking buddy inside his house at sitio Lake, Liwan West, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent viuctor Wanchakan, officer-in-charge of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Franklin Ortiz Alberto, 54, married while he identified the suspect as Romeo Paulo Diabaro, 29, single, both residents of sitio Lake, barangay Liwan West, Rizal, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect had a drinking spree inside the formers house when a heated altercation suddenly erupted between them promoting the latter to leave the area.
After an hour, the suspect, who was allegedly armed with a sharp object, suddenly came back and without saying a word, stabbed the victim fourteen times on the different parts of his body.
Concerned neighbors rushed the victim to the Juan Duyam District Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians while the suspect was subsequently arrested by responding police operatives.
The suspect is now detained at the Rizal Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of appropriate charges against him.
