BAGUIO CITY – A 34-year-old man, tagged as the 7th Top Most Wanted Person in the City Level, was apprehended by Baguio police in Lower Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City, on the afternoon of September 21, 2024.
Collaboration among operatives of Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Police Station 3 and other police units has been made to affect the warrant of arrest of the accused.
He faces serious allegations of child abuse, including Lascivious Conduct under Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, and four case of Statutory Acts of Lasciviousness under Article 366 of the Revised Penal Code, in relation to RA 7610.
Investigation disclosed that the mother of the three victims reported the abuse after her youngest child refused to go home, citing fear of their father. This prompted the other daughters to disclose their own experiences of abuse.
To aid in the victims’ recovery, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) was tapped to provide necessary support and services.
PCol. Francisco B. Bulwayan, Jr., BCPO City Director, emphasized the gravity of these charges and the commitment to justice for victims of abuse. “The safety and well-being of our children are paramount, and we will not tolerate any form of abuse or exploitation. This arrest highlights our unwavering commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our society,” he stated.
As the legal proceedings move forward, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected instances of abuse or exploitation to the proper authorities.
