MANKAYAN, Benguet – The municipal government will be formally opening its satellite office in the capital town of La Trinidad on Saturday, August 1, 2020 to improve the coordination among the provincial government, government agencies, the private sector, and the municipality.
Mayor Frenzel A. Ayong said the municipal government’s satellite office will be at the third floor of AL’s building along Km. 6, near the seat of the provincial government, to guarantee smooth coordination among concerned stakeholders and the municipal government.
He added the satellite office will also serve as a receiving office for various communications addressed to the different offices of the municipal government, and for possible responses to inquiries on the programs, projects and activities of the municipality.
The municipal chief executive reported the satellite office will also help in linking the regional and provincial offices of the education department and the municipal government in the upcoming implementation of blended learning when classes resume on August 24, 2020.

“We saw the importance of opening a satellite office in La Trinidad for us to improve our coordination with the provincial government, the various government agencies, and the people wanting to transact business with the various offices of the municipal government. We want to lessen the burden of our constituents in having to travel to the municipality for several hours just to transact business with the various offices,” Mayor Ayong stressed.
Mayor Ayong called on his constituents who are staying in Baguio City and La Trinidad to avail of the services of the office to avoid difficulties in accessing the different offices as one of the problems being encountered by the municipality is the weak internet signal that is hampering the town’s connectivity to the global village.
Mankayan is one of the local governments in the province that decided to open its satellite office in La Trinidad to ease the burden of people wanting to transact official business with the different offices of the local government and to improve the coordination among government offices and the private sector.
He stated that the birth pains in the opening of the satellite office will be immediately addressed by the concerned official and for the proper routing of the aforesaid communications.
The municipal mayor asserted the decision of the municipal government to open its satellite office in La Trinidad was in response to the clamor of the people transacting official business with the different offices to avoid travelling to and from the municipality just for simple and doable matters that need to be acted upon.
