LUNA, Apayao – On September 5 and 6, 2024, the provincial government, through the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), conducted a two-day Marksmanship Training for the 23 Provincial Guards at the Camp Allan Firing Range San Francisco in Luna, Apayao.
This is the second wave of the training. Earlier on August 29, the first batch of some 22 Provincial Guards finished said training to prepare from any unwanted situations where their skills to defend and protect are required.
Atty. Edmar D. Pascua, Provincial Administrator, advised the participants to follow the guidelines established by the learning service providers and to perform well in the course. He wished them success and happiness towards the training.
In order to complete the training, trainees are expected to apply all marksmanship concepts and graded based on their performances.
Police Staff Sergeant Brynner M. Baydan and Val Denver Balacang provided lectures in Gun Safety and Firing Rules and Regulations. Aside from that, practical activities such as Dry Fire and Turning/Facing Drills, as well as Diagnostic Test Live Firing with eight (8) rounds of live bullets each participant. MHMT Phase 1 (20) rounds of live bullets per individual, Record Firing, and Phase 2 (30) rounds of live bullets per participant were done.
Following the training, Loyd Rio Karl Sion, Officer In Charge of the HRMO, praised the Provincial Guards for their performance and emphasized the significance of safe weapons handling throughout their employment.
The purpose of the training was to improve the guards’ proficiency with given weapons and to teach them the proper handling and display of firearm discipline. By Loremia Pareja
