TABUK CITY, Kalinga – City Mayor Darwin Estrañero is urging the 43 Punong Barangays of Tabuk to finalize their Barangay Development Plans (BDPs) as early as March 2025, as the preparation of the Local Development Investment Program (LDIP) is fast approaching.
LDIP allocates the investible portion of the annual general fund budget for funding the development programs, projects, and activities. It is composed of the accumulated BDPs.
During the CDC Orientation on January 21, 2025, the mayor set the deadline for submission of the BDP this March, after a series of related workshops for barangay officials.
“We cannot prepare our next three-year plan if you are not going to submit your BDP,” he said, reiterating that barangay-prioritized projects will not be included if submissions are late, reminding that budget preparation of LGUs starts in October.
He also reminded the barangays to carefully list and plan the programs, projects, and activities that needed to be prioritized.
“Masapol nga i-envision yu nu anya aramiden yu for the next three years,” the mayor said, urging them to identify the urgent needs of their constituents.
Meanwhile, during the orientation, the mayor also informed the participants to include the city’s counterpart for the KALAHI PAMANA-PDBBM project this third cycle if they intend to include a health station as a priority need for said DSWD’s flagship program.
“Nu manu ti ited ti KALAHI ket nayunan tayo ti aggapu city,” the mayor said. “I suggest a kadagiyay barangays nga awan pay barangay health stations na, diyay ti ipriority tayo ditoy nga KALAHI programs, if you want, ta we will provide counterpart tapnu kopyaen tayo jay barangay station ijjay New Tanglag,” he added.
