TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Mayor Darwin Estrañero reminded offices of the city government to adhere to the updated Citizen’s Charter, which will be launched soon, for the public to enjoy faster and easier transactions as mandated by law.
At the regular flag-raising ceremony this morning, the mayor said that more efficient transactions are among the new improvements in the city government that he wants to introduce.
The Citizen’s Charter is a document containing pertinent information on the services offered by a government office including requirements, processing time, and costs for each service. All government agencies are mandated to put up their Citizen’s Charter in prominent places in their offices.
According to the city’s committee on anti-red tape, the new and updated Citizen’s Charter of Tabuk will introduce a lot of improvements to transactions including streamlined processes, shortened processing time, a definite list of requirements, among others.
The updated Citizen’s Charter also increases accountability of government employees and institutionalizes the implementation of the citizen’s satisfaction survey, according to the committee.
The committee said the Citizen’s Charter is currently undergoing final editing and is targeted to be launched by June 2022.
It would be recalled that President Rodrigo Duterte last year ordered all government entities to submit their Citizen’s Charter as part of the implementation of Republic Act 11302 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
The Anti-Red Tape Authority was tasked to oversee the implementation of this law.
