LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 37-year old mechanic and one of the notorious drug suspects in the province died after he was gunned down by two still unidentified motorcycle-riding armed men in front of a merchandise at Shilan, here, Sunday.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Anthony Ebros Salaing “aka” Basilan, 37, mechanic/buy and sell of vehicles, and a native of Tublay, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was in front of a merchandise when the motorcycle-riding armed men suddenly arrived and fired at him several times hitting him on the different parts of his body.
He was rushed by concerned citizens to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician due to multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene seven spent shells and a deformed slug of a calibre .45 pistol which was used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
