TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) released today the milk subsidy for children enrolled in the 113 day care centers in the city.
Each day care center was given a minimum of eight boxes of fresh milk for 15 day care children.
Beverly Alvester of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) said the milk subsidy is just one of the components of the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) to maintain the healthy weight of day care children and to improve their performance at school.
She added that the DSWD is set to release the monthly ration of day care centers for rice, perishable goods, groceries and additional fresh milk.
Currently, there are 3,280-daycare children enrolled this school year who are monitored and supervised by 116 day care workers in the city.
The SFP is the provision of food in addition to the regular meals to children currently enrolled in the day care centers as part of the DSWD’s contribution to the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program of the government.
