ITOGON, Benguet May 28 – A 28-year old miner was injured after he was hacked on his head by his uncle during a heated altercation that erupted between them in a drinking session at Binatangan, Tuding, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the injured individual as Jhonn Libua Lantol, 28, single, miner while the suspect was named as David Sabado Libua, 58, single, miner both residents of Binatangan, Tuding, Itogon, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session when a heated altercation suddenly erupted between the duo.
At this juncture, the suspect allegedly grabbed a sharp object which he used to hack the victim on his head that caused him to suffer from injuries.
The victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment for the injuries he sustained while the suspect was arrested by police operatives during a follow-up operation
The case is still subject to further investigation by the police operatives to ascertain the motive behind the said incident.
