ITOGON, Benguet – An 18-year old miner was hurt after he was stabbed by a fellow miner during a drinking spree at Camanggaan here recently.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, identified the victim as Klen Nagunman Buclog, 18 years old, single, miner while she named the suspect as Jomar Wanaton, single,, miner and both residents of First Gate, Ucab, Itogon, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect, together with other companions, were having a drinking spree when the suspect suddenly stabbed the victim with the use of a still undetermined sharp object with no apparent reasons.
The victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment and was declared out of danger.
Physical examination revealed that the victim sustained stab wound at the left parasternal level 1 with lacerated wound on the left Occipital area as appearing in his medico-legal certificate.
The suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation for him to answer the appropriate charges that will be filed against him before the Benguet provincial prosecutor’s office.
