BAGUIO CITY – A 14-year old minor was arrested by police operatives and alert jailguards after he attempted to sneak in to the Baguio City jail marijuana brownies and other illegal drug paraphernalia for his brother Wednesday.
Probers disclosed that the minor tried to sneak in to the city jail a total of 5 grams of marijuana brownies worth over P1,250 and assorted drug paraphernalia that was placed inside a transparent bag that he brought with him.
The contraband was supposed to be delivered to his brother who is detained inside the jail after he was apprehended last year for sale and possession of illegal drugs.
Alert jailguards were able to detect the attempt of the minor to bring in to the jail the contraband that is why they sought the assistance of the police who brought the minor to the city social welfare and development office for appropriate action.
The confiscated contraband from the minor and the other drug paraphernalia were brought to the PNP crime laboratory for the conduct of the appropriate tests to ascertain the presence of the illegal drugs in his possession at the time when it was seized by the alert jailguards of the Baguio City jail.
Jail Chief Inspector Elvys Danglose, jail warden of the Baguio City jail, commended the alert jailguards for being able to detect the presence of the illegal marijuana brownies inside the bag of the minor who attempted to sneak in the same for his brother detained inside the facility.
