BAGUIO CITY – Reigning Miss International beauty titlist Kylie Versoza will actively promote not only the scenic tourist destinations in Baguio City but also the local delicacies in the different parts of the world.
Versoza, who was recently accorded a hero’s welcome through a well-attended motorcade around the city’s central business district area, said the city, being a center of trade and commerce in Northern Luzon, also serves as the home of sumptuous Ilocano and Cordillera delicacies which people from the different parts of the world will surely love.
“We are grateful to our city officials and local residents for the warm welcome that they accorded us. I am proud to be a home-grown Baguio resident,” Versoza stressed.
She pointed out aside from the scenic tourist spots, tourists want to visit a certain place because of the presence of good food and Baguio is one of the places that is well-known for good food being adjacent to Benguet, the main source of highland vegetables in the country.
Versoza expressed confidence that the 24 contestants of the Miss Universe beauty pageant who will visit the city next year will surely love the good food served them, thus, she is proposing that local delicacies be served and this way, they can help in spreading the news that Baguio is a decent place to visit because of its available scenic destinations and the quality of food being served.
According to her, among the local delicacies that she wants promoted worldwide is the famous Ilocano delicacy pinakbet with bagnet, chicharon, and other Cordillera delicacies.
She is confident that their visit to the city even for a day will be a big boost to the local tourism industry.
Aside from being one of the aggressive international promoters of the city as a prime tourist destination in the country, Versoza revealed she will continue her advocacy against depression, saying that depression is a disease and it is curable, thus, those suffering from depression can hurdle the problem by seeking early medical consultations to get the necessary treatment and advise from experts.
Versoza also visited a local Catholic school here and rallied the thousands of children who cheered her to be strong to be able to succeed and achieve their dreams in life.
Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan extended the warmest greetings and congratulations of the people and officialdom of the city to Versoza for her outstanding achievement in bringing home the 2016 Miss International crown, saying that her accomplishment in the international beauty contest will serve as an inspiration for upcoming local beauty aspirants.
He claimed that Miss Versoza’s achievement will bring out more beauty titlists from the city and mark Baguio as a home of beauties.
