Mankayan, Benguet- Thirty-two teachers attended the Capability Building of Teachers on New Normal Education held at Mankayan National High School Library, Feb.15.
Jardson S. Onio spearheaded the said activity through the approval of the school head, Mrs. Rosita B. Briones to equip educators in video and script making.
Mr. Wanas, Teacher II of the Junior high stressed the Steps in Making Instructional Videos which includes choosing the type of instructional video to create.
Moreover, Mr. Wanas discussed the succeeding steps in making instructional videos which includes planning ahead, to have a better outcome and establishing a budget to make your instructional video a reality. Determining the length of the video should be based on the attention span of the targeted audience, while writing the script allows us to visualize the flow of the story.
He also added that pressing the record can feel frantic at times, especially if we unexpectedly experience an issue with our production equipment while remembering cognitive load. Moreover, practicing the voiceover is helpful to match the tone of voice to the content of the script.
On the other hand, Mr. Onio of the senior high discussed the use of Kinemaster application on Android. He said that there are features of Kinemaster with its functions: media we can insert videos, backgrounds, images, and audio which helps in adding songs, background music and voice recordings. Further, if we insert voice recordings and we would like to enhance it, we can use the Voloco. He also added in his lecture the other features of Kinemaster which includes the use of handwriting, transition and overlay.
After the lecture, he presented a model output and instructed the participants to bring out their mobile phone for the workshop. Some selected participants shared their videos after which they gave their feedback.
“The training is timely and useful, we can make supplemental activities for our learners using Kinemaster” said Grace P. Diano, Master Teacher I.
