BANGUED, Abra – A motorcycle driver died after he was repeatedly shot by a still unidentified lone gunman in front of the Sinapangan elementary School, Zone VI, here , recently.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Bangued Municipal Police Office, identified the victim as Jay-ar Curbi, of legal age, and resident of Zone 5, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was on board his motorcycle traversing the place of incident when a still unidentified lone gunman suddenly appeared from nowhere and shot him several times hitting him on his head and the different parts of his body.
He was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital by concerned citizens for medical treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians while the suspect managed to escape from the crime scene without being properly identified.
Responding police operatives and elements of the scene of the crime operation team recovered from the crime scene two spent shells and two deformed slugs of a caliber .45 pistol which was used by the suspect in the perpetration of the crime.
The motive of the case has yet to be established by p[robbers considering the conduct of a followup investigation.
