BONTOC, Mountain Province – The craftsmanship and creativity of the i-Montañosa are now on display in the various booths set for the 35th Mountain Province Craft Exposition (MPCE).
The MPCE was launched earlier today, December 11, 2024, and will run until December 18, 2024. According to Senior Trade and Industry Specialist Jones G. Malwagay from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Mountain Province (MP), the craft expo. It is a DTI-initiated activity, in partnership with the provincial government, that started way back in 1988 and was then institutionalized as a way to promote and support the local products of MP, which include woven items of clothing, bags, and accessories; processed foods; furniture and fixtures; and artworks, among others.
The MPCE was formally opened through a ceremonial beating of the gongs, which was led by Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Margaret D. Gayodan, Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., Vice Governor Francis O. Tauli, and Board Members Ezra Samson A. Gomez, Ricardo M. Masidong, Jr., and Johnson D. Bantog II.
Meanwhile, Governor Lacwasan, in his message, extended his congratulations to the DTI for organizing such an event that will greatly help the exhibitors market their respective products.
“I hope that this will showcase our woven products and other products of MP. I invite everyone to come and buy and help in the promotion of these products,” he continued. By Hail, MP
