BONTOC, Mountain Province – The province is set to celebrate its 48th foundation anniversary on April 6 to 10 with the theme, “Progress Through Peace and Unity.”
Provincial Human Resource and Management Officer Leonila Malla-ao, chairman of the program committee, said foundation anniversary activities start on April 6 with the blessing of the newly constructed open shade at the provincial plaza followed by a thanksgiving mass and opening of the agro fair. “Miss Mountain Province 2015 will be crowned in the evening.
Medical and dental mission, operation “Tule” and acupuncture are scheduled on April 6 and 7, 9:00AM to 4:00PM, at the Bontoc General Hospital.
April 7 is the province’s foundation day. There will be civic parade then a program with Engr. Emmanuel W. Diaz, District Engineer of Pangasinan 3rd District Engineering Office as the guest speaker.
On April 8,the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG) will conduct a technology demonstration on fish deboning and other fish by-products.
The Provincial Population Office here in coordination with the Ugnayan at Tulong para sa Maralityang Pamilya (UGAT) Foundation will also conduct “Anak ng Nangibang Bansa Aruga at Kaagapay (ANAK) workshop, and ANAK mentoring and support tract to children of overseas workers studying in two high schools here.
The OPAG will also conduct cost structure preparation on selected commodities on April 9 and 10.
On April 10, the Provincial Cooperative Office will conduct a cooperative forum on executive development to cooperatives organizations in the province.
For the past nine years, the foundation anniversary was celebrated alongside the Lang-ay Festival. This year, the Lang-ay, which is a cultural celebration, is slated on April 10-30.
